Scotty Thiel - Beaver Dam Top 10
The Scott Thiel Motorsports team raced this past Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Series. This was the third appearance of the year at the track and Scotty would go on to capture a respectable top 10 finish.
25 cars were signed in on Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway. Scotty drew a 55 pill which set him to go out 18th in the qualifying order. After putting down a 12.662 lap time that would be 12th quick overall and would have Thiel start third in the 10 lap heat race event. After the field took the green for the heat race event, Scotty charged up to the second spot coming out of turn two. He worked both grooves on the track but was unable to gain enough ground to pass the leader and settled for a close second place finish. However, he was still redraw eligible after all the heat races were completed. When the redraw pill was chosen, it placed Scotty to start 9th in the 30 lap A-main event. Tricky track conditions made for difficult passes in the main event. Scotty worked the low groove for majority of the race and ended up passing several cars in the first 20 laps. A caution came out with only six laps to go and Scotty was up to the sixth position. After the field went back to green flag action, Scotty began to struggle with the handling of the car and fell back a few positions. When the checkered flag flew, Scotty would cross the line in the 8th position. “The run tonight wasn’t great. We are better than this finish for sure. I think the right rear went low on air after the last restart and that hurt us as we fell back a few spots. Overall, it still was a decent top ten finish for us. My guys worked hard tonight to give me a good car but it just faded away at the end. We will regroup and get after it next weekend.” Stated Thiel after the main event.
Next up on tap is a two day weekend for the team. They will start off by racing Saturday night at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, WI and follow that up with another return to the Angell Park Speedway on Sunday.

Torsion Bar Rate:
Torsion bar testing has been around as long as the bar has. There are many different ways to test bars, but they all have the same goal.... to compare one bar to another and give the results in a numerical value (PSI, FORCE POUNDS, RATE).
