Down, Up, Down weekend for STM

Continuing the next 3 day racing stretch, the STM crew headed out to the Thunderhill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, WI on Thursday August 6th. Scotty went out 10th for qualifying and missed the set-up a little bit as the track began to dry out. It would also call for a deep starting spot in the heat race. Thiel started 5th in the heat race and on the first lap going into turns three and four, a car spun and Scotty had no where to go and flipped the car over. The damage wasnt extremely bad, but bad enough that the STM crew could not make the call for the B-main event.

Friday was a new day and the crew prepared the #64 Complete Water Inc Maxim Chassis all day long for the next stop at the Manitowoc County Speedway. Scotty drew a 49 pill which set him to start last (9th) in the heat race event. The guys hit the set-up right on and Scotty charged through the field, rounding out with a 3rd place finish. That would set him to start 6th in the 30 lap A-main event. At the green of the A-main, Scotty rode in the 6th spot for a few laps and then let the car come in, and took charge. Thiel patiently waited for the right time to pass cars and did so all race long, finishing in the 3rd position again. It was a great feeling for the whole team as it was a much needed finish after the Thursday ordeal.

Saturday marked the third spot for STM as they arrived at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI. Scotty drew a 32 pill and set him to start 5th in the heat race event. The track was super tacky and made for really tough passing. Scotty fell back at the start and managed to finish in the 6th spot, forcing him to come through the B-main. Thiel would then start 4th in the B-main and battled all race long to pull out a 3rd place finish and the final transfer spot for the A-main event. Scotty would start 21st in the 25 lap event but at the green flag, he noticed he had absolutly no brakes at all. Thiel could not drive the car into the corners hard and wisely pulled off the track. It was an upsetting ending to the night, but was a better decision to not wreck the car.

STM would like to thank all of their great sponsors: Complete Water Inc, Scott Thiel Builders, Advanced Compressor Technology, Rhey Graphics, Muehlberg's Fire Solutions, Fat Boys BBQ, Moyle Racing, Kaemmer Foods, Haven Bar & Grill, Premier Floors, Tri-Flow Lubricants, and DWT Racing
